Welcome everyone who’s seeing this! Just so you know, as first blog posts go, this one is going to be on the lame side (my apologies).
I used to be a blogger (xanga what up!), but I’ve stopped since entering college. Of course this blog will not be like my normal blog since I’ll be in India, but I’ll try to channel the past blogger in me in order to give nice updates that aren’t just laundry lists of what’s happened and no explanation of what God has been doing.
For instance, this post was going to be cool and have some Scripture that I’ve kept close to my heart the last couple of months through all the busyness and what God’s shown me through it all. Key words are “was going to be”. As usual, I am cramming everything in late and packing for most of the day today, taking a break to type this post and update everyone on email, fb, and the internets. So the super “holy and righteous” stuff will have to wait a few (just kidding about the “holy and righteous” part. If anything they’re just God’s word being totally awesome and me taking my sweet time in realizing the greatness of Scripture. Not even “sweet time” really, more like “bitter, un-Spirit filled time”).
Now for the aforementioned laundry lists of what has happened.
- Logistics: visas, vaccines, plane tickets, transportation, and the rest has all been handled and taken care of. God guided it all and had to step in extra on multiple occasions to cover for my lack of wisdom. I am blessed to have a God that’s got my back.
- I’ve been able to visit and say bye to lots of friends in the last few weeks, praise God! Again, thank you for everyone that met up with me somewhere or sent their blessings, it was all deeply appreciated! And to those that I wasn’t able to hang out with, I’m sorry we couldn’t chill one last time, but I know I’ve got a plethora of support, so I thank you anyways!
- SUPPORT: Currently I have $3,625 pledged! That’s crazy!! Thank you everyone who’s pledged support, it is such an encouragement and blessing! I only get the balance in my Pioneers account every month, so I’m not sure how much I really have, but hopefully it’s around there. When I know, I’ll send out another update. If you’ve given, but haven’t filled out the google doc to let me know, please do so here. I would love to thank you for it personally! The goal I posted originally was somewhere between $4,500-5,000. This is an estimate, but after training in Orlando this coming week, I’ll have a better idea of what I need to aim for. In the mean time, I’ll stick to those numbers.

What’s next: There is a Candidate Orientation Program at Pioneers HQ in Orlando for 1 week. After COP I’ll be off to India and there for the remainder of my time.
PRAYER REQUESTS!!!
Stay in the loop for updated ones! Please pray for:
- my time at COP in Orlando. It’s what their long termers go through, so I’ll pretty much be getting the whole sh-bang. Pray that God will be speaking to me and preparing me the whole time there, and that no matter how intimidated or lonely I may feel, I will cling to His promises and truths, and who He’s made me as.
- the people of Mussoorie, that God will keep working in the hearts of the nonbelievers as well as strengthening the faith in those that do. And that He will be divinely preparing people for the team and me to meet and share the gospel with.
- the team in Mussoorie already and my transition with them, that it will go as smoothly as possible, and no matter what differences come up, the Spirit will unify us in purpose and will.
- pray against spiritual warfare of all kinds; spiritual, physical, psychological. Satan will do all he can to mess up the redemptive truth of Jesus Christ making it to those that need to hear it. Please pray for protection so that that doesn’t happen, and that God’s victory and power will be shown in the face of any concern.
- overall guidance in how God wants to use me as I move forward in life after this trip, that He will be speaking and I will be listening! Pray for clear convictions, callings, signs, or anything that will point me and those around me to God and His plans for my future past college.
- safety and smooth traveling between every destination.
In retrospect, that looks like a lot, but I love me some prayer and I can’t help but ask in abundance and faith because I know He provides faithfully in abundance :)
That’s about all for now. There will definitely be more updates to come. I’ll have internet there so things shouldn’t be too difficult to post up. For the more important updates, I’ll send out an email telling it’s up, but for others that may be small or less to do with what God’s doing in India, I’ll just post and let whoever wants to read go at it.
Thank you everyone for your support and prayers! These last few weeks have been so humbling and encouraging. I really don’t deserve any of it, just God! Though tonight might be my last night in Austin, so many of you will be on this journey with me, and there is no sense of self-confidence that will ever come close to the knowledge of the church body behind me. I love you all!
