India - Peter Chang (8/19/10)
Tumblr community and/or stalkers who don’t have a Tumblr, Thanks for the prayers everyone! I am deeply deeply grateful. It’s been a long trek from Delhi to up here and it is such a relief to finally be here. I’m dead tired from all the traveling (19+ to get to India, night in Delhi, up at 330am, 11+ hrs on the bus), so I’ll crash soon. But I wanted ya’ll to know that things are good. This place is pretty breathtaking. I’ll take pictures when I can, but it’s definitely a site. And the people I’ve met so far that are part of the team are all awesome and friendly. Things will be pretty chill for the first couple of weeks as the team takes a break since the summer team just left (I was able to see them off at the airport actually). So there probably won’t be any big updates. I miss all of you back home so much! As excited as I am to be here, I’m equally bummed to not be in Austin. Keep in touch please! It’s lonely out here in the mountains all by myself, haha. As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. -Ephesians 2:1-10 Some scripture that’s been getting me through. I rejoice in the fact that I worship a God who saves.Safe and sound
